Warning about the Karkand eGuide

I made the mistake of buying the back to Karkand eGuide. I'd have to warn anybody else off buying it until they sort a few things out.

First of all if you look at the page for the eGuide before buying you'll see a great big red banner for a competition at the bottom. Get used to it, there's no way to switch it off and it's on every page of the guide, bright red!

The content is very disappointing for the money, in the introduction they promise "In-depth walkthroughs on new "assignments" to complete all new unlocks". What you actually get if you manage to find it is a section called "Back to Karkand assignments" hidden in the weapons section which says this:
"There are ten assignments in all, corresponding with the ten new weapons. The assignments are broken up into two tiers. Before you can access a lower tier assignment, you must first complete the assignment directly above it. Here’s a quick rundown of the assignments, including the unlocks and criteria for each."

It then just lists what you have to do to gain each weapon, exactly the same as you see inside the game. There is no in-depth walkthrough to complete the unlocks.

They make great books, but this online guide is terrible and missing content which they promise, bait and switch.

I've contacted them about this and if they come back and show me where the missing content is then I'll update this post, if they try to delete this then I'll post it where they can't touch it.

Warning about the Karkand eGuide

I'm in the same predicament for the BF3 Karkand eGuide. I just purchased this today and besides the hard to find walk-through for assignments and a non-downloadable PDF format, I found that the large Conquest maps are incomplete/missing for all flags (PC). I'm leaning towards a refund now!

Warning about the Karkand eGuide

It's a shame that Prima doesn't understand simple and effective business practices, like updating the strategy guides when dlc comes out instead of charging people more money as they did with back to karkand. I now know not to buy guides from them now, instead I will buy guides from the other two sites that offer free updates. Wouldn't you want to keep a customer who will make future purchases and say good things about you, or would you rather lose a customer? Well I think we know the answer to that question.
