It’s been announced that David Hayter will once again be voicing the ol’ gravel throated croak machine that is Solid Snake in the upcoming PS3 sneaker Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Hayter is back for recording alongside a whole host of others that have worked on previous games in the series, these include Quinton Flynn Paul Eiding and Christopher Randolph, who are back to play Raiden, Roy Campbell, and Hal ‘Otacon’ Emmerich, respectively. Video game veteran Kris Zimmerman is the man in charge of directing the vocal efforts for the game.

Hideo Kojima and Shuyo Murata, are to down to write the script for the game, which is beginning to look pretty immense.

"I couldn't be more excited about this game," rejoiced David Hayter. "What I've seen of Metal Gear Solid 4 has absolutely blown me away. To bring the focus of the story back to Solid Snake, and to work with Kris Zimmerman and many of the amazing actors that provided iconic voices for the previous games, is like coming home."

"I'm so proud and grateful to have been involved with Mr. Kojima on this legendary video game series for nearly a decade. This game is going to plunge players into the ultimate Metal Gear Solid experience. And personally, I can't wait to play it."

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will follow Solid Snake around as he traverses a warzone, readying himself to go up against a long-standing rival. The game’s set in 2014, nine years after MGS1, and five years after MGS2 amidst a massive war run by Private Military Companies.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is out on PS3 some time in the latter half of 2007, keep coming to our game hub to check out what’s happening with it.
