Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag – Jackdaw Cosmetic Upgrades

Are you thinking about upgrading the visuals of the Jackdaw? We've got some tips for you!

In Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, upgrading the Jackdaw is one of the most important parts of the game. Some story missions force you to upgrade the ship, while others become much easier with a better outfitted Jackdaw. However, it’s not always about how much hull plating or fire power you’ve got. Sometimes you just want the Jackdaw to look nice. So let’s take a run through some of the Jackdaw’s visual upgrades before you spend that hard-earned loot.

The three categories you can upgrade are the sails, wheel, and figurehead. Most of the upgrades require only money, or in some cases wood, cloth or metal. Spending wood or cloth on the visual upgrades isn’t a big deal because neither commodity is all that difficult to come by. However, the upgrades that require metal you may want to think twice about. Metal is used in a vast array of weapon and armor upgrades for the Jackdaw. Make sure all of that is done and out of the way before you start using metal on cosmetic features.
