The Uncivil War
Both Memory 01 and Memory 03 are available to play from the start of this Sequence. The order that we present here follows the progression in the DNA menu.
THE PRINCE’S BANQUET: Speak to Yusuf at the Memory Start marker at the Hippodrome; the Memory Start marker to the southwest is Memory 03, which can be ignored for now.
After speaking with Yusuf, travel to the waypoint on the outer wall of Topkapi Palace; see the page to your right for advice on beating the Full Synch objective. On arrival, your second objective is to knock out the marked Italian minstrels (a task that experienced Assassin’s Creed players will embrace with relish) and then transport the unconscious troubadours to a waypoint.
You have two Assassins to help you in this task, and need only carry one body at a time. The first trio are easy enough, but the three that follow are in close proximity to a group of Janissaries. As detection leads to instant Desynchronization, run alongside the outer wall, then climb up to engage the minstrels before they can move from their starting position. You must then sneak on the path behind the guards to deposit the body at the waypoint at the far side of the building.
The third and final group of minstrels are located much further away, with the intervening grounds populated by too many guards for Ezio to avoid. Climb to the palace’s outer wall via the building then, after waiting for the Janissary patrol to move away, drop to ground level. Quickly climb onto the rooftop above the musicians. You can now jump down and incapacitate them with a flurry of fists (Fig. 1).
After hiding the minstrels, proceed to the marked waypoint and follow the onscreen prompts to play the lute. Inside the party, move to the marked position and activate Eagle Sense. Study each of the highlighted civilians in turn to identify the target, then stand at the waypoint and play tunes to mask the assassination. Repeat this process with the second target, then reconvene with Yusuf at the waypoint marker.
In the next section of this large Memory, you must identify four killers concealed in crowds of civilians as Suleiman moves to stand among them. Once again, use Eagle Sense to scan each individual in turn, then stand and play in a position that causes the crowd to face away from the subsequent killing. Each waypoint marks the approximate location of a single target.
