BATTLEFIELD 3

COD dev sorry about BF3 bugs comment10/19/11By Wesley Yin-Poole

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 developer Glen Schofield has apologized for criticizing Battlefield 3 developer DICE.

Yesterday the Sledgehammer Games boss raised the thorny issue of Battlefield 3 beta bugs in a Tweet response (now removed) to a fan who compared Modern Warfare 3's 1000 person Call of Duty XP play test to the eight million strong Battlefield 3 beta.

"We had well over a 1000," Schofield said. "Infinity Ward has years of experience with the biggest multiplayer game ever. I surely didn't see bugs like I saw elsewhere."

Now, Schofield, who recently defended the Call of Duty game engine against allegations that it's starting to show its age, has apologized.

"Bad day yesterday," he said. "My deepest apologies 4 bugs comment. I know about new engines, been there a dozen times. No disrespect intended."

The war of words between Call of Duty publisher Activision and Battlefield publisher EA so far been fuelled by high-ranking executives and marketers.

Both Infinity Ward and DICE, however, have repeatedly expressed their admiration for each other's games.

12/08/11 - Technology getting outdated isn't his fault. Its natural that it outdated. I think frostbite 2 smokes whatever sledgehammer used. MW3 looks EXACTLY like firat modern W. He better drop some pride and research new engines cuz DICE is gunning for the crown
11/09/11 - They should work together and create the ultimate FPS
