Dragon’s Teeth, the fourth of five DLC packs for Battlefield 4, gave players access to a batch of new weapons and of course, four new multiplayer maps. In fact, we covered most of them in our Free Dragon’s Teeth Guide, and today we’re going to continue that trend with the CS5 Sniper Rifle. Not only will we tell you how to unlock it, we’ll also tell you where and when to use it.
The “I” in Team
When it comes to the difficulty of assignments, this one isn’t that bad. Well, so long as you don’t mind doing a little bit of sniping. Of course, in order to even attempt the assignment, you must reach a rank of 10, own the Dragon’s Teeth DLC and even play one round of one Dragon’s Teeth map. That’s the easy part, however. The tougher part is completing the requirements to actually unlock the CS5, and here’s what you need to do.
- Obtain 2 Sniper Rifle Ribbons
- Obtain 10 Radio Beacon spawns
- Get 20 Spot Assists
The final two requirements should be quite easy, and will happen naturally if you deploy the Radio Beacon from the Recon class, and do what you should be doing anyway, spotting every target that you see. On the other hand, the two Sniper Rifle Ribbons might be more difficult if you’re not a fan of using those weapons. If that’s the case, we’d highly advise banging this one out in Team Deathmatch, using an ACOG scope, and if possible, the Canted Ironsights. When you spawn, switch to the Canted Ironsights by default, then run around as you normally would. If you spot a target at distance, switch to your ACOG and land the headshot. You’ll need six Sniper Rifle kills in one round to get one ribbon, so it shouldn’t take you too long to finish this part of the assignment.
When Should I Use the CS5?
It’s actually quite hard to make a case for using the CS5, and it might be our least favorite weapon of the entire DLC. Still, if you’re a complete player and try to use all of the guns, there are situations where the CS5 won’t be a liability, even if it isn’t an asset. Not to mention, the custom Suppressor is pretty nifty, although you can remove it if you want.
Try using this on smaller game modes like Team Deathmatch and Domination. If you are going to go crazy and try it on Conquest Large, go for maps like Operation Metro or even the Dragon’s Teeth DLC. The problem with this weapon is that it suffers from massive bullet drop due to some of the worst bullet speeds among all Sniper Rifles, and therefore you have to compensate for distance much more than you normally would. Still, in an urban setting where this was intended to be used, the gun performs admirably.
