Gearbox Software revealed the first details of the new downloadable content coming for the popular sequel. Though it won’t be part of the Season Pass program, which concluded with Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep last month, it will be rather affordable – and a must for fans.

First off, the level cap will be increased to level 72, with the Ultimate Vault hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge.  This pack will also introduce a new level, where Patricia Tannis will have you taking on massive enemies to upgrade your stats and pick up a whole bunch of loot.  This pack will release in October for $4.99.

In addition, the developer will offer a free update with several new backpack, ammo and bank slots, so you can further customize your character.

That’s not all.  Multiple Headhunter packs will be released, with various new missions.  In T.K. Baha’s Bloody Harvest, you’ll deal with the familiar ally as he introduces you to Jaques O’Lantern, a tremendously large pumpkin boss.  Other packs will follow in the months ahead, but pricing hasn’t been announced just yet.

Borderlands 2 is available now for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
