Destiny Festival of the Lost Tips – Farm Legendary Masks, Sweet Memories Quest

Get all of the Legendary masks and buy the new emotes!

Bungie celebrates Halloween in Destiny with the Festival of the Lost, a limited time event running from October 26 to November 9.  In addition to enjoying decorations at the Tower, players can acquire unique masks, use Halloween-themed consumables and purchase three new emotes on sale for a limited time. However, players who buy one or all of these emotes will keep them permanently.

In this Destiny feature, we break down everything these is to know about Festival of the Lost, including how to make Rare masks Legendary.

Festival of the Lost Masks

There are 16 masks you can find and then wear in this limited time event. To get them, complete quests for Eva Levante. Then put on a mask while beating challenges and killing enemies to earn rewards.

There are two types of masks, Rare and Legendary. Rare masks will disappear after November 9, while Legendary masks will remain a part of the Destiny experience, presumably forever. Similar to weapons and armor, you’re free to dismantle masks you no longer want. Then you can give Eva Levante the scraps to receive a randomized Rare mask.

If you don’t need a Legendary mask, dismantle it and you’ll get Paper Glue, which lets you upgrade a Rare mask to a Legendary one. You also have the option of acquiring Treasures of the Lost bags from the Eververse Trading Co. and opening them in the hope of receiving Paper Glue.

This is the complete list of masks in Festival of the Lost:

  • Speaker Mask
  • Traveler Mask
  • Tiger Mask
  • Rare Engram Mask
  • Oryx Mask
  • Skolas Mask
  • Cryptarch Mask (expires)
  • Atheon Mask
  • Legendary Engram Mask
  • Exotic Engram Mask (expires)
  • Petra Venj Mask (expires)
  • Xur Mask
  • Crota Mask
  • Uncommon Engram Mask
  • Eris Morn Mask (expires)
  • Warden Mask
  • Skull Mask – Bonus 17th mask!

How to Farm Masks

If you want to go on a mask farming spree, follow these tips from Planet Destiny.

After you acquire the Empty Candy Satchel from Eva Levante, put on a mask and then proceed to kill enemies in either PvE or PvP to get candy. If you don’t have friends fighting alongside you, go into the Defend the Warmind mission and slaughter all of the minions until the Knight appears at the top of the staircase. Don’t kill it! Instead, jump to your doom. Do this three times and you should have a full candy bag. Now head back to Eva for a mask. This should take five minutes tops.

Sweet Memories Quest

To begin this Festival of the Lost quest, visit Eva Levante to receive a bag, then visit each vendor at the Tower to collect candy. You’re able to collect goodies from Commander Zavala, Eris Morn, The Speaker, Ikora Rey, Lord Shaxx, Cayde-6 and the Cryptarch.

Collect as much candy as possible and then return to Eva, who gives you a Gifts of the Lost bag, along with some new quests that task you with wearing different masks while completing unique objectives. For example, you may have to get Crucible sword kills while wearing the Crota mask, or loot engrams disguised as the Cryptarch.

You can also fill your bag by equipping a mask during Crucible matches and PvE while scoring kills. Then bring the full bag to Eva.

Additionally, Eva will hand you a Legacy of the Lost Mystery Bag containing randomized items. Among them, one Legendary mask and the chance of acquiring Flight of Shadows, the Skull Mask, Paper Scraps and more!

Eververse Trading Co.

Visit Eververse Trading Co. to buy the three new emotes from Festival of the Lost. These include the Zombie Dance (700 Silver), Monster Dance (500 Silver) and Boo (300 Silver).

Additionally, you can buy Treasures of the Lost Mystery Bags. Each bag contains at least one Legendary mask and different consumables depending how much you spend. Buy Treasures of the Lost Mystery Bags with one item (200 Silver), three items (500 Silver) or six items (900 Silver).  Your bag may include the following.

Paper Glue: Use this to upgrade a Rare mask to a Legendary one.

Paper Scraps: Hand over Paper Scraps to Eva Levante for a new Rare mask.
