How to find every Gold Chest in Destiny.
In most massively-multiplayer games, you visit different locations to speak to non-player characters, otherwise known as NPCs. Activision’s Destiny is somewhat similar in this regard, with different computer-controlled merchants and warriors who provide backstory while selling weapons and gear. Except in this case, The Tower also serves as a place for fellow players to hang out, learn more about the game, make friends and team up to go on co-op missions or wage war in The Crucible. With this in mind, here’s a list of NPCs you should meet from Newsweek’s mini Destiny guide.
Tower North
Eve Levante: Visit Eve to peruse her impressive selection of rare and common Emblems.
Executor Hideo: This New Monarchy member uses politics to rebuild the Golden Age. Has a wealth of knowledge about the universe.
The Speaker: If you wish to learn about the Traveler, the Speaker is someone you have to meet.
Hall of Guardians
Commander Zavala: The City protector sells a variety of items to fellow Titans.
Lord Shaxx: The high exalted one will offer you an invitation to enter The Crucible (multiplayer), along with high-level gear providing you earn what Bungie calls Crucible Marks in PvP.
Cayde-6: Sells gear to Hunters.
Arcite 99-40: While not the nicest, this Lor Shaxx subordinate may sell something that interests you.

Tower Plaza
Kadi 55-30: Of all the droids on the Tower, Kadi is the most human, which should make it pleasant to speak to. It’ll hang onto items sent your way after finishing Crucible matches, missions or patrols.
Xander 99-40: Xander tracks all Bounties. Bungie recommends using the Destiny mobile companion app before taking on some of these Bounties, so that you chain them together in the best way possible.
Tess Everis: Shes the Awoken who can get things, as in the hard-to-find items you can’t locate outside of the capital.
Master Rahool: Bring all of your Engrams to Master Rahool, who does a fine job decrypting and then turning them into different items.
Banshee 44: Knows a ton of info about weapons.
Tower Hangar
Arach Jalaal: While a bit preachy, Jalaal has high-level Dead Orbit gear for the Crucible. Let him ramble on while you peruse his wares.
Lakshmi-2: To do business with Lakshmi, you must first earn Crucible Marks from player-versus-player. That’s the only way you can purchase all that cool Future War Cult (FWC) Crucible gear.
Amanda Holiday: If you want a new ship, go to Amanda. She has quite a few blueprints, even for rare spacecraft that’ll take a while to research.
Roni 55-30: Unlock the Vanguard Armory and then visit Roni to buy cool Vanguard weaponry.
