Destiny: The Taken King – Enemy of My Enemy Story Mission

Find the Mausoleum and defeat the Echo of Oryx.

This feature will tell you how to complete the Enemy of My Enemy story mission in Destiny: The Taken King. The primary objectives involve assaulting the Cabal ship that crashed into the Dreadnaught and then learning more information about Oryx, The Taken King.

Start by going to the Hull Breach on the Dreadnaught, the exact same place where you battled the Goliath Tank during the previous mission. Kill the remaining Cabal forces so the ship doors open, then proceed inside.

Continue through the ship until you see a room with a blue tint. Slaughter the Cabal nearby and approach the terminal. Scan it with your Ghost to learn the Cabal tracked Oryx and plan to take him down in the center of the Dreadnaught. Your plan is to reach this location and kill Oryx personally.

Walk through the sliding doors into a new area, the Mausoleum.  Cabal and Taken battle all over the place, and both sides will turn their attention to your Guardian the further inside this place you go. Neither care whether you pick a side, so respond by killing whatever gets in your way. Follow the waypoint towards the Rupture.

Attempt to go inside of the Rupture. Although you fail to do so, this kicks off the next part of the mission.  Follow waypoints to three statues and scan these objects with your Ghost. When this is over, return to the Rupture and get ready to fight a mess of Thrall erupting from the portal. If you are super charged, unleash your Guardian’s super ability and let them have it!

With the Thrall defeated, the Echo of Oryx appears along with Taken forces. Forget about the Rupture and instead focus your attention on the Echo of Oryx, making sure his minions don’t get in some cheap shots. This is a huge area and enemies spread out nicely, allowing you to avoid the majority of opposition and defeat the boss with relative ease. He moves around a lot, so you may want to avoid wasting rocket ammo unless another member of the fire team manages to distract him. If you’re playing solo, a powerful assault rifle will eventually bring him down.  Low on ammo? Kill some minions and acquire more.

Once the Echo of Oryx goes down the mission concludes, but the fight against The Taken King is far from over.
