Earlier this month we reported that Bethesda’s upcoming action/adventure game Dishonored would be headed for a fall 2012 release, though the company wasn’t able to confirm at the time.  Now we know for sure when we will be able to serve up vengeance in a nouveau Steampunk/futuristic world.

The game is bound to take front and center at Bethesda’s E3 showcase next month and will officially hit stores in the US on October 9 and in Europe three days later.  The game will be available for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and should feature an intricate storyline that has you battling against the powers that be, using whatever resources are necessary – futuristic weapons and all – to get the job done.
