Broken weapon racks11/23/11By bunny_oken

I can't activate my weapon racks in my whiterun house. But my wife playing on the same 360 with the same copy of the game can use hers just fine. Any ideas how I could get mine to work?

09/22/12 - I'm not that positive if anyone has said this, but I found out how to put weapons on the weapon rack. The first thing you need to do, which is required, you need to equip your weapon that you wish to put on the weapon rack. As soon as it is equiped, you should be able to just go up to the weapon rack and activate it. IF THAT DOESNT WORK, equip it, and then go into the little fighting mode, then activate the weapon rack. I was having some trouble with this as well, and after a while i found out. ~Found this out on skyrim for XBOX 360. It may be different for others. Hope this works. :)

09/05/12 - well im having a simmiler problem but with display cases in the new dlc heathfire. i have created display cases but i can not put anything in them i have no idea why it is not working. if i go to a non-created house one that i bought from the jarls assistant or whatever everythning works fine in other houses i am a nord in game but if some one can help me please reply and help me out if anyone has problems with the new dlc and display cases if you find a way to fix i would be very great full thank you.

11/26/11 - I had this same problem and I was an argonian as well, so I wounder if its a bug with argonian characters, either way when I bought the house in solitude my weapon rack worked.

11/28/11 - Yeah I've run into a few wtf moments when appeasing my OCD. Weapon Rack, and just simple drop-lift-placement of objects on tables and such. I came fresh from Fallout because I knew the relation would be close, but if I cant put a lute on a chair or bee in a jar on a table without 15 minutes of manipulation...wtf. BUT don't get me wrong this game deserves the new category of (the year) "The rest of you need to step it up cause this game makes you all look lazy" Award :) ONE F*cking Disc People! Someone sacrificed a unicorn for this level of wow. Figure out the rack let me know

11/28/11 - Been playing between two characters on my 360; my Imperial can't use weapon racks or wall mounts, but my Khaj can. Maybe Khajiit is the unbugged one? Kinda sucks because I'd like to display my stolen staffs in Honeyside.

11/29/11 - I'm playing Skyrim on my PS3 slim and im a nord. i cant use the weapon rack or wall mounts but my brother who is using the same ps3 as me can. plus i just installed the update yesterday and the problems still there (as well as many others)

11/29/11 - I'm an Argonian as well, and my weapons rack in Breezhome (Whiterun) works. I'm not sure if its race related or just random bugs within each release of the Xbox title. Hope it works out....

12/07/11 - i have had the same problems with 3 of my 4 houses however i found i have full access to my markarth weapons racks. haven't acquired my riften house yet.

11/23/11 - Yes we have both bought all the additions to the house. If it helps (doubt it) shes a Khajiit and I'm an Argonian.

11/23/11 - Have you equipped the weapon you wish to "rack", then activated it? I tried sliding my weapons through the holder on the rack, to no avail. But if you have the weapon in hand, then activate it, it should work.

11/24/11 - When I look at the racks the option to activate the rack doesn't even come up even if I have a weapon in my hands or not.

11/25/11 - That really sucks. So not only do I have lag issues between selecting skills/spells/map/items screen, can't place objects where I want in the house, YOU can't use the weapons rack....seems like some of the enjoyable past releases had fewer bugs. These seem like elementary fixes to me, maybe they decided to release it too soon? Sorry.

02/01/12 - (Nord) This is a stupid glitch because I have the same problem. And I thought that it was just one house, but it turns out that it is also the house in Windlem. I can't use neither weapon rack, in either of the houses. If anyone finds anything else out notify.

01/04/12 - I had same problems as well. try punching with fists somtimes it works but sometimes not.... sometimes in breezehome instead of equiping weapon u can hold A to lift it and it can get stuck on rack.(may get stuck on wall beside rack) if anyone has any other solutions then please say them

01/06/12 - I have made multiple characters, breezehome racks don't work or hjerim, I have yet to try other locations, but i feel it will be met with the same problems. Perhaps its in consideration as these games are often patched to polished state months after they're released... also they say they are releasing some sizeably meaty DLC which will improve the core play. not necessarily all extra content. So id imagine alot of bug fix's like this and the "throw items everywhere in your house phantom" will also hopefully be exorcised lol

12/29/11 - i play on PC (prefer the modability) but neither my Wood Elf nor my Nord can use the racks... i can use most, but not all... and that changes... some times i can use one but not another one day, then the next it's reversed, the one i could use is no longer use-able but the unusable one is (by day i mean real life days)
