Trademarks taken out for Fallout TV/films

No comment as of yet from Bethesda

Bethesda Softworks has applied for Fallout trademarks regarding “an ongoing television programme” and “motion picture films about a post-nuclear apocalyptic world”.

The trademarks were applied for on 5th February, as pointed out by a blog named Dwell On It and made common knowledge by Joystiq.

There’s been no comment when quizzed by various sources on the trademark but we’ll presume, as is often the case with this kind of thing, that it’s more of a safeguard for the brand than any real start to a project.
