Forza Horizon Hits the Open Road With a Demo Next Week

We're just a few weeks away from hitting the open road with the next chapter in the Forza racing series from Microsoft, the highly anticipated Forza Horizon.  The game shies away from serious simulation in favor of arcade-style racing through the outskirts of Colorado, as part of a fictitious racing event that'll keep you on your toes.

But if you're not sold on the game just yet, that's probably because you haven't given it a try.  Not to worry, though.  On October 9th, you'll have access to a free demo that'll give you the chance to road test the game, utilizing a custom 2013 SRT Viper GTS to do so.  The demo will first open up to Xbox Live Gold members, and soon after for everyone else.  So make sure your subscription is in order…and maybe your license as well.

Look for Forza Horizon to smoke a few highways, both through single player and across Xbox Live, on October 23rd.  We'll have a follow-up hands-on report for you in the weeks ahead…
