You thought that Gears of War 3 would be the apex – and the end – of Epic Games’ thrilling third-person shooting series?  Prepare to be amazed as the team is announcing yet another new entry next week at the Microsoft press conference.

Today, Game Informer revealed its July cover, and it features a not-so-recognizable character in handcuffs, and hints at the next title in the Gears of War series.  But that’s about all of the information we have on the game, save for one interesting salvo – it’ll be coming to Xbox 360, rather than the next generation of Xbox hardware.  This is bound to be good news to those of you who can’t get enough of shooting the Locust Horde to pieces.

Details, including the game’s official title, are set to be revealed during the press conference on Monday morning.  Could it be a prequel?  A spin-off?  A Cole Train adventure?  Whatever it is, it’s coming…and it’s monstrous.

Check back for more details soon!
