Epic Games has announced a new Free For All multiplayer mode for upcoming Xbox 360 prequel Gears of War: Judgment.

The news comes via OXM, which cheerfully informs us us the game “turns friends into enemies,” on its cover. This is the first time a Gears game has featured multiplayer that isn’t team-based.

If you can make it down to PAX Prime in Seattle at the weekend then you’ll have the chance to get a taster of the new mode. There’ll even be the choice of two maps to play (thanks GameInformer). One map, Gondola, is a coastal villa, while the other is in a library. I wonder if they’ll introduce silencers.
