Ghost Recon Online Temporarily Delayed On the Wii U

Published 2 years ago by Robert Workman

Ubisoft has been pushing its team-based Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online in a big way, showing it off at huge gaming events and promising that players on both the PC and Wii U would thoroughly enjoy it.  Well, at the moment, they're half right.

The company has announced that the Wii U version of the online multiplayer action game has been temporarily put on hold, so the team can focus on getting the PC version wrapped up.

Talking to Videogamer, producer Theo Sanders stated, "As of right now, the entire Ghost Recon team is focused on the PC version only," adding "The Wii U version is on hold." He said that the company wanted "all hands on deck" for the PC version, though the Wii U "was a really fun, cool platform to develop for."

"If in the future we have an opportunity to address it again, we'll make future announcements," Sanders said. "But as of right now we're focused completely on the PC version."

So it's not cancelled, which is good news, but at this rate, we probably won't see it till mid to late 2013.  You might want to check out the PC version in the meantime…
