Sony went all out this morning to appease those hardcore God of War fans by announcing a new collector's edition package for the latest game in the series, Ascension.  For $79.99 ($20 more than the game's price), you get quite a bit of goodies in this box – even if you don't actually get a Pandora's Box this time around (like you did in God of War III's package).

The set comes with a Kratos statue, a steelbook case for your game, the official in-game soundtrack, a season pass that unlocks all downloadable content for the game, and some other yet-unrevealed goodies.  As a bonus, if you pre-order the Ascension collector's pack, you'll score an exclusive Mythological Heroes Multiplayer Pack, providing access to four bad-ass soldiers you can take into battle against your friends.

We suggest you shuffle on over to your local game store and pre-order this bad boy, because, by next year, Kratos will definitely be in high demand.
