How do I get the small key in the water temple?06/12/12By cloud31

in the water temple-area #14. trying to get the small key located behind the iron gate.
i go though the steps with the water level changes and get to were i am facing the iron gate(from across the tower-the water level is even with platform opposite me. i keep shooting the eye with a arrow and the gate opens but when i try to longshot over when the gate is open,the long shoot does grab hold of the longshot point on the wall and the gaye keeps closing.
please,what am i missing?

07/22/12 - that`s what i`d like,an answer! the above does not address my question. am i taking the correct steps in order to get over to the gate? i keep shooting eye and the gate opens,but when i try to long shot over and thru the gate,the block that the long shot is supposed to attach to does not grab hold of the long shot. this is the first time i have run into something like this and i am wondering if i am not doing something correct. i have shot the eye many times,but cant get past the gate. help thanks

06/19/12 - This may just be a matter of quick timing. You should be able to hit the eye switch, the (very) quickly longshot over the gate before it closes. ;)
