The ability to capture and upload replays in Mario Kart 8 produced tremendous results for Nintendo and its fans, adding a new social wrinkle to the racing action. Who knew Luigi could be so evil?

Hello? Paging Lionel Richie
In this short but sweet replay clip, Koopaling Roy can’t help but reach out to the player while Lionel Richie’s “Hello” plays in the background. It’s perfect because of the way he absorbs a coin he just picked up, giving him a little bit of sparkle that even the toughest of ladies will find hard to resist.
The Mii character that races alongside him can’t get enough. Move over, Bowser, there’s a new player in town.
Luigi Ridin’ Dirty – Death Stare in Mario Kart 8
There’s no question that Luigi has a vengeful look whenever he sees an opponent hit by a power-up in Mario Kart 8. He glances in their direction and gives them the kind of glare that says, “Yeah, that just happened” before speeding off.
A creative Mario Kart fan took this clip and matched it with the song “Ridin’ Dirty” just perfectly. No wonder this is becoming the sensation of the Internet. It even showed up on Fox News at one point. (We’re not kidding.)
DAT BLUE SHELL! INSANE CATCH UP – MARIO KART 8
One great thing we like to see in these Mario Kart videos is a big comeback, when a character falls into a seemingly last place position and then comes out of nowhere to score a first place finish.
That’s precisely what happens above, when Peach gets beaned by her own heroic Mario, only to make an effort to come back with speed boosts and coin collecting. Then she steals (more like earns) a first place victory out of nowhere at the last second.
Now this is some $#&&@!*$ – Mario Kart 8 – Bowser’s Castle
Sometimes, you just run into those races where you’re trying to figure out what the heck happened. Waluigi is featured in such a video.
In the clip, Waluigi uses a green turtle shell to attempt to defend himself from an incoming red one. But it still somehow sneaks past and goes ahead of him, then zooms in and hits him anyway.
Waluigi’s luck doesn’t get any better from there, as he gets shrunken and run over by an opponent, slips on a banana peel, then spends the rest of the race playing catch-up.
At least there’s some light at the end of the tunnel, as he manages to score a third place victory.
Mario Kart 8 – Get Rekd Blue Shell
There’s nothing like having an equalizer to save your butt for a first place victory, and Mario Kart 8 finally provides one for the spiny shell that can wreck anyone’s day.
The above video highlights a character carrying a super horn through a majority of the race – but there’s good reason for this. A spiny shell manages to head his way right before he reaches the end, promising to ruin his first place victory. However, he wisely uses the horn to blast it before he crosses the finish line.
Mario Kart 8 replay! Green Shell Skill Shot
Everyone knows that green shells ricochet off objects in the Mario Kart universe. Here, Toad makes one heck of a shot on the hapless Luigi, who is none too pleased with being on the receiving end of his opponent’s antics. Sadly there’s no comeback, and Toad scores the win.
