Playing as Vanguard
Rate this eGuide
Vanguard was my most favorite class in Mass Effect and in second game it's even better. Vanguard is pretty versatile and I think that most people agree that it's really fun to play. Because of mixed biotic and assault skills he can be pretty much combined with other squad mates - for example adding simple biotic/sentinel with warp (for example Miranda) and assault with concussive shot (Garrus, Wrex, Zaeed), which gives a pretty deadly advantage on Mass Effect 2 battlefields.
As vanguard, it's good to choose shockwave, incendiary ammo and biotic charge. With shockwave, vanguard can eliminate multiple targets, while with use of incendiary ammo and SMG can do pretty much good dame. Focusing on hard targets - with armor or barrier, player can use skills of other squad mates. Combination of incendiary ammo loaded into weapon with high rate of fire with strong warp or concussive shot can eliminate most of hard targets.
Biotic charge can be use to change the situation on the battlefield. With simple move, player can strike the enemy lines and then use for example shockwave. Getting good cover is crucial, player then can simply organize the rest of the attack and torn enemy troops to pieces.
Like I said - usage of SMG is primary, but for harder targets, player have to bring some bigger gun. Saving the ammo for bigger encounter is no problem, since with the right choice of squad mates the progress in levels isn't a problem. Combination of the forces is the key and once a player knows how and when, game isn't a problem on any difficulty.
I hope that I will enjoy playing vanguard in Mass Effect 3 and see, how it will work out. Looking forward, it's gonna be awesome.
