Mass Effect 2 Vanguard versus Husks02/13/12
How I dealt with the husks in the highest difficulty setting as a vanguard.

Originally I thought that since the husks are a melee class it would make sense to use a short range weapon, like a shotgun. This is true on the normal difficulty, but on insanity the husks all have armor. Usually a biotic pull is an instant kill and on insanity this is still the case once you've managed to remove their armor.
Instead of a shotgun I used an assault rifle, more specifically the Mattock assault rifle (DLC). Another accurate assaulr rifle would do as well, like the collector assault rifle or the geth pulse rifle (which can be unlocked by playing Tali's recruitment mission on hardcore or insanity). I upgraded pull to the maximum level and chose the 'pull field' specialization.
What I do is I shoot about three rounds of the Mattock with incindeary ammo to get rid of their armor. I don't kill them completely but instead remove the armor from any nearby husks. Once their armor has been taken care of I use a pull field to get a multikill. On the highest difficulty getting multikills on husks is very useful, especially on the dead Reaper where the supply of husks is nearly endless.
Also remember that a biotic charge recharges a portion of your shields. A scion can easily remove your shields with their shockwave ability so try to find a lone husk and charge it.
