The adept is a puppeteer of the battlefield. Armed with a plethora of abilities, the adept can devastate a small army with a flick of the wrist. Unfortunately for players, the adept’s variety of powers can be very confusing as to which power best fits each of the different environments in the Mass Effect universe. The general strategy of an adept changes with the current environment. Here is a list of things important to remember when playing as an adept: - Warp explodes when used on an enemy trapped in pull or singularity - Shockwave can pass through crevices - Pull and singularity instantly kills husks - Biotics can curve around corners - Shockwave goes through walls The rest of this guide will deal with the different environments faced in Mass Effect 2, and how to best overcome them by best utilizing the adept’s powers. -Environment 1: Hallways and stairways With the right powers, hallways can be a very adept-friendly battle environment. A shockwave easily scatters enemies lined up behind cover, leaving them lying on the floor for you and your teammates to execute. If you do not have shockwave, place a singularity in the center of the hallway in order to catch enemies that are trying to make unwanted advances. When an enemy is trapped in the singularity, take them out with your gun or a warp. Use pull on the enemies in the back of the hall to bring them into shooting distance. Same strategy is applied to stairways. -Environment 2: Separate balconies When on separate balconies, or facing enemies that are on balconies, use pull to force them out into the open. Balconies generally have a small amount of cover, so using singularity on an enemy in cover will catch enemies that try to take the open space that the trapped enemy was forced to abandon. -Environment 3: Collector bases (or any place in which collectors are the main enemy) Collector bases tend to be very linear, and even when they are not inside of their base, the Collectors arrange themselves in a straight line. By using shockwave, a player can effectively expose a large chunk of the Collectors to attacks. If shockwave is not possessed, pluck each collector out of cover using Pull. Set up a singularity somewhere in front of you to catch advancing Collectors. When approached by husks, pick them off with pull before they get too close. As mentioned above, singularity and pull both instantly kill Husks. If they do get close, try to dance your way around the group of Husks while continuing to pick them off with Pull, or try to grab them all in a singularity. Scions and the Harbinger take patience to deal with; an adept must hide in cover while damaging it with warp. -Environment 4: Geth bases and geth areas Fighting the Geth employs many of the same strategies used when fighting collectors, due to their general linear arrangement. As an adept, you do not have skills needed to deal with shields, so be sure to take teammates that have overload. Geth flyers are automatically killed by any biotic power that hits them, so do not panic when attacked by a swarm. Pull or Throw works best when dealing with them. -Environment 5: Open rooms In rooms where enemies could come from more than one side, pick a side and leave a singularity in the middle of that area, then begin to pick off enemies circling around to your back with pull. This concludes my Mass Effect 2 Adept guide. These strategies and tips should help you to become a master Adept. Thank you for reading.
