Some like to destroy their foes with biotics. Others like to get under synthetic skin with tech powers. Some just run and gun and cut to the chase. And then there's you, the one who likes to do it all. With the Sentinel, you have everything a warrior needs to strike back in this galactic war.

As a biotic and tech expert, you have multiple powers at your disposal including two in particular that become extremely useful as enemies gain defensive protection: Heavy Overload will destroy normal mechs and shields while Heavy Warp will weaken most barriers and armor. There, however, lies the only problem Sentinels struggle with: how to finish off your foes after the defenses are down.

That's where fan favorites Tali'Zorah vas Neema and Garrus Vakarian come in and aid the Original Spectre and old friend, Commander Shepard. Tali is a great distraction; using her AI Hacking and Combat Drone to keep synthetic enemies at bay is always helpful when bombarded by waves of Geth. Garrus (and another choice character: Grunt) definitely begins to shine when the last slivers of health remain, and all you need is a too-tough ally to keep you alive. It never gets old to see Collectors turn to whiplash victims after a good ole Concussive Shot.

In addition to the perks of the crew, Shepard wields the SMG and Heavy Pistol. Though neither will exactly annihilate the foes, they do a good job tearing them down when your powers need recharging. Plus, during the mission on the Collector Ship you're prompted to pick an upgrade: shotgun, assault, or sniper training. Added firepower never hurt any hero.

The Sentinel's special power, Tech Armor, becomes pretty useful once all your foes defenses are taken down and brute force is required. Once the armor is completely drained, it explodes, damaging all nearby enemies and giving you another chance to bolt to safety while you recuperate.

That leads me to another suggestion. As most know, the bonus powers are very useful talents you gain that can help add balance to the more one-sided classes. Therefore its best to figure which power would benefit not only your class, but particularly for the versatile Sentinel, your play style. Extra biotic and tech powers are useful, but with an already balanced warrior, going defensive could prove the most successful route.

Ammo powers are be a nice touch here, but adding another defense to add on top of your Tech Armor might provide more in the end. Out of all defenses, Fortify contributes the most to keeping you safe at higher levels. Basically, when you can Warp, Overload, Throw and freeze your opponents, what you should really concern yourself with is shield boosts. And with the Three Amigos charging into battle most enemies become small fry. Adding Fortify to the upgraded Power Armor will make Shepard practically invincible for a short time.

A wise warrior knows how to utilize all weapons and powers in combat, and Shepard is no different. Even if enemies get too close, a simple Throw will thrust the foes backwards... almost like the Force... but more entertaining. If things start looking bad, Cryo Blast does a nice job at keeping enemies distant, particularly Husks and Abominations.

Shepard can be described in many ways; weak is not one of them. This class proves that with great power, comes great responsibility to open the heads of any opposing targets. And it isn't that hard when nearly every enemy is at their knees when you walk in..
