In this guide, you will be learning why Garrus and Tali are the best companions to tag along.
Now anyone can say they love Garrus, and if you don't you will have a definite reason. Garrus is a great ally in the battlefield due to his weapon choice, his all around powers, and his personality.
- Concussive Shot
- Armor-Piercing Ammo
- Proximity Mine
Garrus' powers are very balanced and can be used on almost all enemies you come by. His overload can be very helpful with any enemy that has shields. Concussive shot can lay any non-armored unit down with ease, making an easy kill. Also the proximity mine can be placed by a entrance that you can't watch.
Garrus can be equiped with a sniper rifle, the kind of rifle that will do heavy damage on your targets. Using Armor-Piercing with the Mantis will score heavy damage on all targets, especially Armored units of course. When available the Widow (or Black Widow) is suggested.
It's no doubt that assault rifles are are a favorite. Garrus can be equipped with any assault rifle. I personally suggest keeping AP Ammo on with any weapon, but you would think so too. Using the Phaeston with his AP rounds inflicts serious damage and knockback on tougher enemies. The Valkyrie is also very good if you have that unlocked.
Tali is a personal favorite of mine, due to her quirky personality. She vitalizes in shotguns and heavy pistols. She is a definite asset on Geth related missions, but useful all around.
- Energy Drain
- Combat Drone
- Defense Drone
Tali's powers are, once again, a great asset on Geth missions but are not limited to that. Her combat and defense drones are extremely useful decoys if you wish to use them that way. Her energy drain will destroy shields and kill Geth with ease. Sabotage is not only useful on the Geth but also useful on Atlas' and turrets, use that to your advantage.
Shotguns can be very useful, ranging from accurate longer range ones to short range extremely powerful ones. Tali will make good use of any shotgun but I personally set her up with M-22 Eviscerator for the range and Armor damage bonus.
Tali makes good use of pistols as well. I personally suggest the Scorpion for her to use. Just switch her to that thing and it'll make use of any heavy unit.
And that concludes my companion guide.
