MASS EFFECT 3

BioWare suggests keeping Mass Effect 3 saves02/03/12By Prima Games

In what won't become the mystery of the century, BioWare has suggested hanging on to Mass Effect 3 save-games.

"It wouldn't be a bad idea," associate producer Mike Gamble told GamerZines.

"Obviously I can't say anything," he said, "but it wouldn't be a bad idea..."

Mass Effect 3 won't be the end of Mass Effect - BioWare has flatly stated as much before. Mass Effect 3 will only be the end of Commander Shepard, whose story we've followed since Mass Effect 1.

So, is Gamble hinting at Mass Effect 4? Or is Gamble going on about downloadable content?

Where would Mass Effect 4 even be set - would BioWare consider a prequel? How would that work with a Mass Effect 3 save-game?

Mike Gamble told Eurogamer this week that the ending of Mass Effect 3 will "make some people angry".

"It's going to make some people extremely happy; it's going to make some people angry," he said. "But that's part of it, right? To invoke the emotion putting some of these stories to bed will naturally bring up."

Please don't do a Matrix.

03/06/12 - I had and idea that I thought might be pretty cool. I figured something like this might come up, and I think that the most unique way of continuing the series 'after' Commander Shepard's glory days are over -- and this depends on who you romanced throughout the series, who you stayed with, and you actually survived -- you continue as his/her offspring. If you went with Liara, you play as an Asari with Shepard's genes. If you went with any of the human characters, you play as another human, but with Alliance family history. If you went with Tali(I seriously have NO idea if humans can even reproduce with a quarian, but hey, why the hell not?), then maybe you play as either a hybrid, human, or quarian. If you were a female Shepard, and if you could actually reproduce with either Thane or Garrus, then maybe, again, you play as a hybrid of those races, a turian, a drell, or another human. The way I see it, is that if BioWare were to continue the series in this way, then they'd likely have YOU choose what type of character you continue as -- given that you kept your Mass Effect 3 save data. If you didn't, then they'd probably just have you create an entirely new character, introducing a game with multiple race types for the characters you wish to create. Let me know what you guys think of this, because I honestly think that this would be VERY innovative.

02/14/12 - I hope it doesn't mean we're gonna get watered down mass effects in the future..

02/05/12 - I'm imagining they'll do another series set a few centuries behind these with another war. Considering that ME3 is going to have Shepard in command of whole races which can be wiped out, it will probably be good to know which survived and which races died out. Especially if the next series does the same as in ME2 where if you didn't upload a previous save file or do the comic book, Shepard was automatically a tool in his previous existence.
