ID Hands Guide 03/06/13
Discover the 30 "special" ID Hands on every soldier to unlock the Armor Breaker weapon.

Throughout your venture in Metal Gear Rising, you'll stumble across unique cyborgs that carry a special "left hand." You can easily determine if the soldier has one with Augment Mode; it'll blink and be highlighted.
The only proper way to snag these is by cutting them off using Blade Mode. It works best by swinging your sword in a vertical position, but you will be lucky at times when aimlessly slashing away.
Be aware that larger cyborgs, specifically ones with armor, require to be damaged quite a bit before their arm/hand is vulnerable.
There are 30 ID Hands. Gathering them all will win you the best blade in the game, the Armor Breaker. Use this as a checklist!
R-01: Coup d'Etat
ID Hand #1
Right after you defeat the Hammerhead, you'll run into the gate of the hotel in an alleyway that will be shut. Doktor will notify you to get the right "ID" to access the gate's terminal.
Turn around and head back to where you entered -– the guard will be highlighted behind the barracks.
ID Hand #2
Make it to the top of the hotel and watch a cinema. When it concludes, drop yourself down from the roof -- one of the of guards below carries it.
ID Hand #3
In the next section after #2 (beyond the Farris wheel area), three guards will be patrolling the broken-building ahead. The one that doesn't move has it.
ID Hand #4
Once you make it inside the factory, you'll find this fellow on the second floor catwalk (with the Gun Cameras). You can also set off the alarm in the first section and let him come to you.
R-02: Research Facility
ID Hand #5
When you reach the lab bay (with the sets of brains in the room), one of the three guards holds it.
ID Hand #6
When you gain control of the Dwarf Gekko, stun all the guards in the room. Return to the room as Raiden afterward – the one on the upper-right catwalk has it.
ID Hand #7
Once you defeat the GRAD(s), head in the next hall. There will be two guards armed with RPGs; one of them carries it.
R-03: Mile High
ID Hand #8
Right at the beginning –- it's the cop with the hat.
ID Hand #9
After you defeat two GRADs on the street, police will call for backup. The fellow with the hand will arrive from the street to the left.
ID Hand #10
The elevator inside the newspaper building is guarded by a bunch of cyborgs. One of them carries the ID Data, armed with a RPG.
ID Hand #11
On the second building from the rooftops, a police officer with wings has the hand.
ID Hand #12
When you reach the civilian on the fourth building, one of the cops guarding him carries it.
ID Hand #13
As you leave the pitch-black railroad tunnel, you'll arrive outside. Three guards will ambush you -– one of them has it.
ID Hand #14
Right after #13, at the first police barricade, the hand is carried by the officer on the small balcony.
ID Hand #15
As you collect #14, make your way to the next area with the long stretch of stairs. The ID Hand is carried by the guard with a RPG on the left-hand side of the steps.
R-04: Hostile Takeover
ID Hand #16
In the lobby at the beginning, slice the robot secretary. Four guards will ambush you –- one of 'em has it.
ID Hand #17
When you try to access the elevator in the lobby, a wave of foes will break into the building. One of the men carrying a shield has the hand. (Let him come to you.)
ID Hand #18
As you reach Floor 20 of the headquarters, you'll find this guy in the northeast room. (He's a big fellow, so you'll have to dish out some damage first.)

Without alerting the guards on the Floor 20, eliminate two of the electrical panels as Doktor says. A hammer-wielded guard will appear in the northwest room, whom contains the left hand.

The first wave of foes in the Japanese garden will show you no mercy – the last guard carries it.

In the second section of the Japanese garden (with the rooftops), one of the cyborgs patrolling the streets has it.

Six cyborgs guard the freight elevator. Take your time and rip 'em apart; one of them has the left hand.
ID Hand #23
As you ride up the freight elevator, you'll have to jump to the second lift. Once you do, you'll be attacked by some Sliders and a hammer-wielded cyborg –- he has it.
R-05: Escape From Denver
ID Hand #24
The very first guard that attacks you at the start of the level carries the ID Hand.

In the second section, you'll find this ID carried by the hammer dude near the fountain.

One of the cyborgs guarding the civilian carries this ID.
R-07: Assassination Attempt
ID Hand #27
Three cyborgs guard the entrance to the military base. The fellow with his back turned to the barricade has this one.
ID Hand #28
Head inside the base from the fence gate; it'll be the very first hammer-wielded guard.

The large cyborg near the second "chopper" in the hangar has this special hand.
ID Hand #30
Outside, right after running through the hangar, you'll encounter three soldiers. The fellow with the RPG standing on the small ledge carries it.
