Nintendo Offering DLC Character For Pokemon Black and White Version 2 In First Month

Play the game during launch, and you'll get Genesect for your collection.

Nintendo’s definitely trying to reach out with downloadable content in its games, as previously demonstrated with the extra Coin Rush stages in New Super Mario Bros. 2.  Now it’s extending that courtesy to the Pokemon brand, as the company has announced that it will be providing an extra character for those who play the series’ latest entries in the first month of release.

Anyone who picks up Pokemon Black and White Version 2 for Nintendo DS/3DS and plays it between its October 12th launch date and November 12th through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will gain access to a special Pokemon character by the name of Genesect.  This Bug/Steel-type Pokemon first hatched as a fossil, but soon grows into an asset for only dedicated Pokemon fan to use in battle.

“Not only can players dive into a brand new adventure on Oct. 7 with Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, they also can receive an incredible new Pokémon right off the bat,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “This limited-time distribution will get players off to a great start with what is sure to be one of 2012’s biggest games.”

Check out the game when it releases next month.
