Achieving 200 consecutive victories may seem daunting, but as long as you have the right Pokemon for the job, it’s within reach. Just keep these Battle Maison tips in mind.

Keep winning, you gorgeous Pokemon Trainer you

Your primary goal in the Battle Maison is to win consecutive matches without losing. Don’t worry. You can save your progress during and between battles, and the game will preserve the streak. To do this, select Interrupt to leave the current battle and autosave.

On top of that, you can have separate winning streaks in the aforementioned Single Battles, Double Battles, Triple Battles, Rotation Battles and Multi Battles, which creates all sorts of craziness.

Keep these important tips in mind:

  • Remember to charge your 3DS system. If the battery dies, you’ll lose the current streak.
  • Never press the 3DS HOME button. That will also kill the streak.
  • Do not exit out of or reset the game unless you’re done with Battle Maison.

Tip: Choose Pokemon from the Battle Box or creatures from your party.

While on the subject of winning streaks…

Win 19 consecutive battles to meet one of the Battle Maison’s four owners, referred to as the Battle Chatelaines. The person you meet during the 20th battle depends on the selected battle type, outlined as follows: Nita for Single Battles, Evelyn for Double Battles, Morgan for Rotation Battles and Dana for Triple Battles. Beat this person and you’ll unlock the resulting Super Battle type.

Winning 50 battles in a row results in a monument appearing at the Battle Maison entrance in your honor. The best part? You can unlock five monuments that correspond to each battle type.

Score 100 victories and receive a Lansat Berry from the girl hanging out at the Battle Maison entrance. Give this presumably delicious treat to a Pokemon to boost its critical hit ratio.

Tip: Plant Battle Maison berries along Route 7 to grow more!

Finally, 200 straight victories puts a Starf Berry in your pocket, given to you by the same girl standing (more like loitering) at the Battle Maison entrance. Give it to a favorite Pokemon to significantly increase one of its stats.

You can’t choose any Pokemon in the Battle Maison

Turns out, some Pokemon cannot compete in the Battle Maison. The list includes Mew, Mewtwo, Giratina, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Celebi, Kyogre, Manaphy, Groudon, Rayquaza, Zekrom, Jirachi, Deoxys, Reshiram, Victini, Dialga, Palkia, Phione, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde.

Tip: Pokemon over level 50 will become level 50 during these battles.

Battle Maison BP

You earn Battle Points with each win. You’ll score 1-2 BP for regular victories, while defeating one of the Battle Chatelaines nets a whopping 20 BP. From there, you’ll get 2-7 BP during Super battles and an insane 50 BP against the Super Battle Chatelaines.

Once you have enough BP, head to the Exchange Service Corners in the front lobby to buy a variety of neat items.

How to play with friends in Battle Maison

To do this, select Multi Battles and team up with a buddy using the 3DS infrared feature. No worries if you don’t have friends available at the moment, as you can ask an AI Trainer to help out; you’re free to select this AI partner, like Trevor, Shauna or Tierno.

Ask someone on your 3DS friend list to join, and he or she can send someone on their behalf.

Tip: You can change the battle music.
