Rayman Legends Gets Exclusive Origins Levels, Special Mario Costumes on Wii U

Ubisoft plans to reward Nintendo fans.

It’s been a long road for Ubisoft’s Rayman Legends. Originally announced as a Wii U exclusive for release earlier this year, Ubisoft delayed the game to make it a multi-platform title.  However, the company hasn’t forgotten the Wii U community.

During today’s Nintendo Direct special, new exclusive items were revealed for the Wii U version of Legends, which fans will certainly appreciate. First up, special Mario costumes will be available, with Rayman getting Mario’s trademark red duds and Globox receiving Luigi’s hat and suspenders.

In addition, Ubisoft will add 40 fan-favorite levels from Rayman Origins into the game across all platforms. Creator Michel Ancel and his team modified these levels to make use of Legends’ new lighting system, as well as the Wii U’s touchscreen controls. The levels will be part of an unlockable chapter in the game, titled Back To Origins.

Rayman Legends releases for Wii U, along with PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PlayStation Vita on September 3rd.
