3DS Retail Games Go Digital In Today’s Nintendo eShop Update

Buy StarFox 64, Mario Kart 7 and others without having to leave your house.

Today’s latest Nintendo eShop update has gone live, and though there are a few interesting downloadable games available (including the classic NES game Gradius – always a favorite around this office), the big news is that Nintendo has released more full retail games for digital download through the service.

For $39.99 a pop, you can grab one of four big hits, without needing to plunk down money on a physical copy.  Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, StarFox 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D join the previously released New Super Mario Bros. 2 as full game downloads.  You don’t get an instruction manual or a box, but, hey, you do get to play the game without the threat of losing the cartridge.

More digital games are set to arrive later towards Christmas, including the new Professor Layton adventure and Paper Mario: Sticker Star.  Keep on the lookout!
