STAR WARS Battlefront Screenshot Breakdown – Vader, AT-AT, Endor

All of the new images from EA’s new STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ game for PS4, Xbox One and PC, complete with analysis.

The new Star Wars™ Battlefront™ game was finally revealed at this week’s Star Wars Celebration event. In addition to the impressive cinematic trailer, EA and DICE released several images of Star Wars Battlefront that unfortunately produced more questions than answers, but we have no problem speculating until more details are made public; efforts to use the Force proved futile.

With that in mind, you’ll find every Star Wars Battlefront screenshot below, along with some analysis in case you’re new to the Star Wars universe.

X-Wing vs TIE Fighters

Similar to Battlefront games past, you’ll have access to a plethora of vehicles, giving you and other players opportunities to take the fight to the air. Here’s the big question: where does this image take place? We know Tatooine is among the different locations in the game, and the background is certainly in line with the iconic desert planet, home of Jawas and the Mos Eisley Cantina. But it could also be from the new Battle of Jakku DLC that players who pre-order will receive early access to. The battle takes place after the Battle of Endor from Return of the Jedi, on a remote desert planet in the Outer Rim.

Speeder Bikes on Endor

This screen shows a Scout Trooper chasing after a Rebel Trooper (with three Stormtroopers providing support) in what appears to be Endor from Return of the Jedi. Considering we haven’t used one of these anti-gravity vehicles since Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (and Star Wars Arcade before that), this ranks high among our Battlefront to-dos.

Fascinated Rebel Trooper

We have no idea what has this Rebel Trooper so mesmerized, and we’re a bit more interested in the Sullustan behind him. That’s the alien who looks exactly like Nien Numb, the alien who co-piloted the Millennium Falcon with Lando Calrissian in Return of the Jedi. Safe to say you can play as both characters on the Rebel side.

Darth Vader Selfie

There appears to be a forest behind Vader in this shot, suggesting Endor yet again. Not sure what blew up, but the Dark Lord of the Sith appears happy with his work. Naturally you can slay Rebels as Vader, but also Boba Fett, among other classic villains.

Battle of Hoth

The phenomenal Battle of Hoth from Empire Strikes Back makes a grand appearance in Star Wars Battlefront. Judging by this shot, there will be tow cables wrapped around the legs of numerous AT-ATs. Snow Speeders will get shot down, Snow Troopers will die by the thousands and it’ll look so much better than the Hoth mission in Super Empire Strikes Back for the SNES.

That said, this was the coolest thing back in 1993.

Partner System on Endor

This final screenshot shows off co-op. The Rebel Trooper on the right has a bazooka or missile launcher of some sort (there’s also a jet pack on his back), while the one on the left appears to have set a trap for the approaching AT-ST, or claimed territory in a King of the Hill style mode (it’s a dome shield).
