Vin Diesel: Starbreeze Studios Working on New Riddick Game

"You're not afraid of the dark, are you?"

Vin Diesel’s Riddick character struck a chord in theaters. He also made a huge impact in the video game world with the release of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay for Xbox and PC, as well as the Xbox 360/PS3 follow-up, Assault On Dark Athena.

Now it seems he’s headed back to video game consoles. Speaking with Screen Crush, Diesel confirmed that various members from the original team at Starbreeze Studios reassembled to create a third game in the series for as-of-yet unspecified platforms.

“We just, over the past couple of months – just this year – reassembled that team from Starbreeze that brought Escape From Butcher Bay to create the third game,” said Diesel.

In addition, a mobile app is also being prepared for iOS, though it’s not confirmed whether it’s a separate game or a supplementary app to the new Riddick title. We’ll know more soon enough.

The latest movie in the series, Riddick, is in theaters now.
