In order to increase Geralt's skills and attributes you must first select Meditation from the Quick selection menu. This will bring up 4 different menu items, Alchemy, Drink potions, Meditate, and Character. Select Character and you'll be brought to Geralt's Character Abilities screen. In this screen you will choose with path to spend you points. At the beginning of the game only the Training Path will be available. Select the Training Path then select any node that you wish. Each node will have two ability levels and some will have a Mutation node attached to it. Each node will cost 1 Talent point and you earn 1 Talent point every time Geralt earn 1000 experience points. By earning more Talent points and collecting mutagens, you'll be able to add new abilities to Geralt and increase his stats like health and magic. So make sure to spend your points wisely because once you spend a Talent point or use a mutagen you cannot reallocate those points again. So good hunting monster slayer!

04/29/12 - This is a great "how-to" tip, cloud369. It does a good job of explaining the function of skill and attribute allocation. But how do YOU select your skills and attributes? For example, why would you select to put X amount of points into one skill over another? Consider this question from a strategic standpoint. Basically, how do you "spec" your Geralt? ;)
