The Two Best Weapons to Use in Modern Warfare 2 DMZ The Haunting

2 Best Weapons to Use in The Haunting

Darkness and evil have fallen across the DMZ, leading us to make some changes to our load-outs and gear. With night vision becoming a paramount find in boxes, we need to be careful with our attachments as some are not compatible.

Weapon Classes for The Haunting

The normal slow-paced long-range environment of DMZ is now modified into a more close-range high-speed engagement field. The darkness makes most assault rifles less than optimal, and without a thermal scope, sniping becomes increasingly difficult. Given the parameters of The Haunting, and the missions we have to complete on it, we need fast and powerful weapons to jump in with. SMGs, shotguns, and auto pistols should be at the top of our list.

Best SMG for The Haunting

The first weapon we need to consider is the BAS-P SMG. It’s fast, agile, and spits rounds fast enough to take down any AI enemy or operator. It also has almost no recoil since it is based on an AR platform. Personally, I typically like a sight on my weapons, but overall, this weapon does not need one. I swapped my sight for a laser in order to nail those quick hip-fire kills. For The Haunting, these are my favorite attachments for the BAS-P, and you can fine-tune them to your liking.

Best Shotgun for The Haunting

Shotguns are known for being super powerful in Call of Duty games, and Modern Warfare is no exception. Needing to get in close to an enemy is usually the drawback of shotguns, but in The Haunting, close is how we play. Because of this, shotguns are finally in my personal arsenal. What better shotgun to use than the Lockwood 300? With the correct setup, this shotgun can become a one-hit kill monster in The Haunting. Once again, this is my personal preference, and you can tune it to your exact playstyle.

Which Weapon to Carry

I never leave home with just one weapon, and I strongly suggest you bring in two weapons you have built yourself. As with previous Call of Duty games, it is faster to swap weapons than reload. So carrying two monsters is the most lethal way to go. Plus, in the DMZ, it’s always easier to have two different classes of weapons running in order to maintain an ammo reserve.
