When is Cyber Monday 2017?

Cyber Monday comes straight after Black Friday, so this year it falls on Monday, November 27. Online retailers often keep deals back from Black Friday so they can get an additional burst of publicity and sales activity the following week, and although Monday is the focal point, deals often last a few days.

What is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday was set up to be the internet’s answer to Black Friday, which was a high street tradition, but these days most online retailers do a ton of deals on Black Friday anyway, so the distinction is increasingly meaningless.

Black Friday is still the bigger shopping day overall, so you can expect better deals on big-ticket items concentrated around the day after Thanksgiving specifically, but Cyber Monday can throw up some bargains too.

What can I buy on Cyber Monday?

Retailers use Cyber Monday to sell anything they can to anyone. They know we’re in the mood to buy. We’re a gaming site, so we’re particularly interested in stuff like games, consoles, accessories, 4K TVs, smartphones and tablets, laptops and gaming PCs, but these won’t be the only items available. Don’t be surprised if you finish the day with a basket full of cut-price movies and smart home products.

It’s also a good opportunity for retailers to sell through products that are clogging up their warehouses, which is good news for gamers, because there are usually critically acclaimed games that underperform at retail through the summer and could do with a seasonal boost.

What were the best deals on Cyber Monday 2016?

One of the consoles targeted for discounts in 2016 was the PlayStation 4 Slim. With the new PS4 Pro heading to market, retailers obviously saw this as an opportunity to shift some of the less exciting model, so there were plenty of bundle deals. The PS4 Slim with Uncharted 4 for $249.99 was a particular standout.

Xbox One wasn’t left out either. There had been some great pack-in deals on Black Friday, but Cyber Monday brought with it some good savings from the likes of Best Buy and Walmart, notably a 500GB Xbox One S console with your choice of 4K movie and a gift card.

Where can I find Cyber Monday deals?

You can expect all the big online retailers – Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, even Dell – to be cutting prices, and we’ll be running around like headless chickens (wait, surely turkeys) looking for the best savings to pass onto you. As a gaming site, we’ll be focused on games, accessories, consoles, smartphones, tablets, gaming PCs, laptops and of course the increasingly important 4K TV, so bookmark us and we’ll do you proud!
