The Behemoth Just About Finished With Battleblock Theater Development

No, really, it's actually coming!

We’ve seen The Behemoth’s Battleblock Theater making the rounds at various independent game shows these last few years and kept wondering, “Um, so when will this release?”  Unfortunately, they’ve been real mum about it, probably making sure that every bit of its development is in the right place, just as it was with their previous releases, Alien Hominid HD and the blockbuster Castle Crashers.

Fret not because it finally looks like it’s being readied for release.  According to the company’s blog page, you and your buddied will be able to team up together within the game very soon, as they’re nearing the final sessions of their testing and submissions.  Which means we should see it in early 2013.  Yes, finally.

On a side note, it’s also been officially rated, as the ESRB have slapped it with a T for Teen rating.

There’s still no word on a release date, but like we said, at least it’s FINALLY coming, and that’s something worth getting excited about.  The only downside is that it won’t be on a fancy enlarged arcade cabinet.  But then you can’t have everything.

Look for a gameplay preview of Battleblock Theater very soon!
