Randy Pitchford Would “Love to See” Borderlands 3 On Nintendo Switch

Taking the wasteland on the go? Borderlands 3 on the Switch would be a dream, and the Gearbox boss agrees.

We are one day away from another big Borderlands 3 reveal and excitement is high for the next tale in the beloved wasteland franchise. With the Nintendo Switch’s continued success and surprise third-party additions, it’s no secret that many would love to see the third Borderlands game on the hybrid console, and it turns out – so would Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford.

When one fan asked on Twitter if there was a possibility of the Nintendo Switch getting Borderlands 3, the Gearbox Boss replied: “I would love to see that happen.” Though obviously not a confirmation, it is good to see that he and his team would be open to a possible port. Though it’s not set at launch, many studios outsource to other companies for ports to different platforms. This could mean that Gearbox would be opening to harnessing talents as seen with studios like Panic Button for bringing the world of Pandora into the palm of our hands.

As for the upcoming reveal, before the gameplay itself airs at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on May 1st, there will be a 30-minute pre-show hyping up the latest reveal. According to the most recent blog post from Gearbox, “Many interesting Borderlands 3 theories–some of them with decent accuracy ratings–have been floated following frame-by-frame dissections of gameplay trailers over the past couple weeks. A number of you have even set about cracking some hidden codes… But you haven’t found them all yet.”

It’s going to be an exciting event, our first look at the gameplay itself – not just cinematic. The fun is arriving soon when Borderlands 3 launches on September 13 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC through the Epic Games Store. And who knows? Maybe eventually the Nintendo Switch.
