UPDATE 10/12: The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 download installation size is roughly 55 GB across all platforms. Activision recommends having at least 112 GB of free hard drive space for the installation process.

Original story: An estimated file size for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has been revealed on the Microsoft Store page, just weeks away from the game’s launch in October. Whether you were planning on diving into Blackout, exploring the new Zombies modes, or simply queuing up for multiplayer, you’ll want to know the download size for Black Ops 4 ahead of launch to ensure your system has enough free space to download the game.

According to the Microsoft Store page, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be approximately 42.64 GB, not including patches or other downloadable content. You may want to have a bit more room than that to account for the potential day one patch on launch day, as well as any other future updates.

This estimate is for the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The PlayStation Store and Blizzard Shop have yet to specify the approximate download size for Black Ops 4, though it’s probably safe to assume that the PS4 and PC versions will be close to the Xbox One download estimate. We won’t know exactly how large the file size is for the game until pre-downloading becomes available closer to launch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is scheduled to release for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 12. Check out the launch gameplay trailer for a closer look at what’s in store.
