How to Pack-A-Punch in IX

Unlock the Pack-A-Punch in IX isn’t nearly as complicated as it is in some of the other maps. In fact, we’d wager it’s one of the easiest Pack-A-Punch machines to activate in Black Ops 4, followed by the Pack-A-Punch in Voyage of Despair. Obviously, you should also make sure you learn how to Pack-A-Punch in Blood of the Dead while you’re at it, as it is by far the most complicated method. We’ve outlined everything you need to know below, though, so let’s dive right in.

Ring the Gongs, Collect the Champions’ Heads

The first step in unlock the Pack-A-Punch in IX is to locate the four special Gongs that have been situated around the map. Each Gong is located inside of an altar room, which means you’ll need to locate all four of the altar rooms (there is one in each tower).

Ringing the Gongs will summon special zombie Champions for the players to fight. Now, these Champions can be rather difficult—especially early on—so you will want to make sure you have plenty of ammunition and weapon power before you start completing them. Once you have rang the Gong, the Champion will rise, and you’ll need to defeat it. Upon defeating the Champion, a head will drop. Pick up this head and hold onto it until you have rang all four Gongs and defeated all four Champions.

The Gongs can be found in the following rooms:

  • Danu Altar Room
  • Zeus Altar Room
  • Ra Altar Room
  • Odin Altar Room

Place the Heads on Spikes

Now that you have all four of the heads, it’s time to make your way down to the Flooded Crypts. To reach this area, simply head down underground through any of the four towers that are situated around the arena. Once you reach the Flooded Crypts, head inside the Temple and you should see a statue with four spikes around it. Place the heads on the spikes and then they will sink into the ground, replacing the statue with the Pack-A-Punch machine.

Now that you know how to activate the Pack-A-Punch in IX, it’s time to dive in and start upgrading your weapons for 5,000 points a pop. You can also head back over to our Black Ops 4 guides for more helpful information like how to turn on the power in Blood of the Dead.
