Turn Down the Music

One thing that Color Switch does very well is music. In fact, it easily has one of the best soundtracks we’ve ever seen in a mobile game of this sort. But, it can be distracting. We’d suggest turning it down, or even off, as the upbeat tunes can cause you to get into an uneven groove with the beat, which could lead to you tapping your next move far too early. Turn it down, or turn it off, and see how the game feels without those upbeat tunes to push you on.

Be Patient

Sometimes you’re going to have to wait before you can get through the next obstacle. Don’t sweat it if you find yourself pausing with each jump, waiting a few times for the next obstacle to line up just perfectly. This is a great way to get an idea of how you should move forward, and it allows you plenty of time to take stock of the situation. That being said, don’t wait too long or you might find yourself suffering from stage fright, which is never a good thing.

Pause the Game

There’s no time limit in the game, but that doesn’t mean you should make use of the pause function available to you. Hands getting a little sweaty? Feel a knot starting to grow in your throat? Pause the game and step away for a few moments. The obstacles aren’t going anywhere, and you may just need a break from the colorful moving shapes that make up the game’s puzzles. Trust us, sometimes coming back to it with fresh eyes can prove to be your greatest move.

Don’t Be Afraid to Fail

While the highest score in the game is set at 999, most real players don’t show up above the 400-500 mark. That being said, start out small, and set goals for yourself that are easier to obtain. Shoot for 5, then move up to 10, and then onward to 15. If you keep doing this, moving the amount of jumps up in increments, you’ll find yourself improving more and more with each run. It also keeps you from becoming upset with yourself for making dumb mistakes, of which you are sure to make a few.

These are just a few helpful tips to help you get started in Color Switch. Be patient, pause the game for a break every now and then, and don’t be afraid to fail. You can always try again if you fail, so there’s no harm in making a mistake every now and then. You should also try out some challenge modes to help you experience the game in even newer ways!
