New Contra Game Leaks With September Release Date

Fans of the old school game Contra might be having a new adventure to take on this month.

Contra is one of the best franchises in gaming history and that’s a hill I’m willing to die on 100%. That being said, it looks like we could be getting a new entry into the franchise, maybe even a remaster (?), at least if the latest rumor is to be believed.

According to the online retailer known as NetGames, there’s a new Contra listing that seems to point at an upcoming September release. There’s no real details in the listing, though the simply titled “Contra” points to a physical release for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on September 29th.

It could be a simple revival, a “collection” of sorts bringing the retro favorite into this generation. That, or it could be its own title altogether. Seeing the success that Super Bomberman R had, it wouldn’t be too terribly shocking to see Konami pull a similar move with their beloved Contra franchise.

What do you think? Do you think it’s a new game, a remaster of the older titles, or a full-on collector’s edition? Sound off by hitting us up over on Twitter @PrimaGames
