Try Before You Buy With GameStop’s New Program, Starting With PS4’s Days Gone

Now is your chance to try out PS4's Days Gone for FREE for a limited time.

GameStop is preparing to launch a “Guaranteed to Love it” program which allows players to return a game within 48 hours for trade-in credit to swap out for another title. The first game up for the program is the PlayStation 4 exclusive, Days Gone.

The catch, outside of trade-in credit, is that this new program is only available for standard editions for games, not Deluxe or Collector’s. The reason for this is pretty obvious, given that most of the higher editions come with redeemable codes for additional content that once used, are gone for good. To have someone take a game only to return it while still using that additional DLC does more harm than good from the business side.

The new promotion itself goes live with Days Gone, but unfortunately other details haven’t been revealed at this time as far as limitations per title. Still, since GameStop already had a similar program in place for used games, it’s good to see them extend that out to new games as well.

With recent reports that GameStop had a staggering loss in 2018, it makes sense that the retail chain would be looking for other ways to maximize their presence within their consumer base. With so many alternatives out there now, including Xbox Game Pass, GameFly, and Red Box, GameStop is in a position where it needs to evolve with the market before it’s left behind for good.

Interested in giving Days gone a 48-hour free trial? Here’s what you need to know about the game before its April 26th release on PlayStation 4:

“Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic. Play as Deacon St. John, a drifter and bounty hunter who rides the broken road, fighting to survive while searching for a reason to live.”
