Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding is definitely one of those games in development where the more he reveals about it, the less we know. It's no secret that the Kojima Productions debut title is just that ... a secret and Kojima-san's process regarding trickling information has been intriguing, if not a little disheartening. Still, with the few that have seen the game in action in private raving about it being "revolutionary" for video games, it's hard not to get swept away in the excitement. Luckily, the creator has had a busy week this week at the Tribeca Film Festival and is gearing up to release new details about Death Stranding that might provide us with a few key puzzle pieces to this growing mystery.

During this past week, Kojima-san and actor Norman Reedus opened up a bit more about the game alongside Geoff Keighley. Though they were careful not to name anything specific ahead of the next reveal, they did mention that more official news is on the way in the next "month or so." With E3 fitting right into that timeframe, it's possible we'll learn more there, though it is unlikely given Sony's decision to pull out of this year's expo.

Sony has also mentioned they will be hosting their own sort of event this Summer, which would fall in line with the "or so," but honestly? We're just anxious to learn more.

Death Stranding is currently slated for a PlayStation 4 release with murmurs of PlayStation 5 support as well, though we don't have an official release window at this time. As previously mentioned, Death Stranding is a total mystery. Though we've had plenty of trailers and character introductions, still - none of us have any idea what the hell is actually going on. Kojima-san is known for his exuberant creative energy and for those that have been involved with the project - or have seen a glimpse themselves - the overall reaction has been one of stunned respect.

Looking back at everything we've seen and heard so far, it's easy to get carried away and respect his process. Kojima-san is a pro when it comes to the tease and he's a darn artist when it comes to painting a picture without giving away too much. He has the perfect hook and we are definitely all baited as we anxiously await official release date news.

Thanks, DFTG
