In this article we’ll highlight all the changes that we noticed during the reveal, and discuss everything that we know about the upcoming first person shoot and loot, including answering questions surrounding Destiny 2 voice actors, Destiny 2 Supers, will Destiny 2 be cross platform, the new Destiny 2 sub class, will Destiny 2 be on PC and more!

First off, let’s clear the air a bit. Bungie didn’t reveal much about the sub classes that will appear in Destiny 2, or whether players will be able to unlock the original sub classes and Supers from the first game. There was also no information regarding cross platform play, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated once that information is known. In addition, while no new voice actors were announced and no names were specifically mentioned, the same voice actors from the first game are reprising their roles.

Destiny 2 looks to be shaking things up quite a bit, and Bungie is happy to introduce quite a few changes to the franchise in its sequel. Weapon slots, which were previously set to work as a Primary, Special, and Heavy have now been exchanged for a system that features a Kinetic, Power, and Energy weapon slot, which will give players more freedom to use the weapons that they love.

The game’s main three classes—Warlock, Hunter, and Titan—will all be receiving new Supers. In the gameplay preview we saw the Warlock use a new Super, which is part of a sub class called Dawnblade. Titans will get a new Super as well, which falls under the Sentinel sub class, which is a new Void-based subclass. The Hunter receives the Arcstrider sub class, which features a Super that lets the Hunters cast an energy staff that appears to work similarly to the Arcblade Super from the first game.

We also learned during the reveal that the Cabal will take their place as the main bad guy in Destiny 2’s first campaign missions, and that for a short while all Guardians are be without any powers. How this will play into the story itself is unclear, so we’ll just have to wait to learn more. The reveal did make note of quite a few changes coming to the game.

We’ve known for a while that Vaults will be reset at the launch of Destiny 2, and many fans have speculated that the Tower and The Last City would be destroyed. The reveal made all of that clear, and also introduced the game’s big bad, Dominus Gahl. The game will also feature new armor, weapons, Exotics, and worlds to explore. The four new places that players will get to visit include the European Dead Zone, a massive new area on Earth, as well as the planets Nessus, IO, and Titan.

The new areas will also include all kinds of different events and missions that players can take part in, including the exploration of Lost Sectors, Adventure missions, and your typical lineup of Public Events.

Destiny 2 will also feature even more story missions and cinematics, which Bungie feels will help bring the game to life in even bigger ways than previously possible in Destiny 1. The developers also revealed that players will now be able to explore much larger areas, and even travel to other planets without having to load back into Orbit, as you had to do in the first game. You’ll also meet NPCs around the game world, which is something that was nonexistent in Destiny 1.

Bungie also put quite an emphasis on their new Clan and Guided Games system, which will work similarly to the LFG (Looking for Group) systems that players have had to use outside the game for Destiny 1. Perhaps, though, one of the biggest surprises of the evening came when Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg and Blizzard’s president and co-founder, Mike Morhaime, announced that Destiny 2’s PC version will be available exclusively on Blizzard’s gaming application, which was formerly known as Battle.net.

That’s really all we know about Destiny 2 right now, we’re sure that more details will arise throughout the coming months, especially as we grow closer to the September 8 release date. Bungie did announce that a Beta will take place this summer, so fans who preorder the game now have that to look forward to. We’ll keep you updated on all the latest Destiny 2 news as it is revealed.
