How to Get the Origin Story

The Origin Story is a Legendary variant of the Auto Rifle that players originally receive during the first mission of Destiny 2’s main storyline. It’s increased stats, and the ability to be able to Infuse other items into it make it more than worth the time that you’ll have to invest to unlock it, and it’s definitely an Auto Rifle that we suggest players pick up as quickly as possible. Getting the Origin Story won’t be an easy process, or well it might be. It really all depends on your luck of the draw when it comes to decoding engrams. See, in order to get the Origin Story Legendary Auto Rifle, you’re going to have to earn yourself some Vanguard Tactician Engrams, which can only be obtained by ranking up your Vanguard Rank in Destiny 2.

How to Upgrade Vanguard Rank

As we stated above, the only way to get the Origin Story is to unlock it via decrypting Vanguard Tactician Engrams. Now, these items are only obtained by ranking up your Vanguard Faction reputation, which can only be done by earning Vanguard Tactician Tokens. Luckily, these items are easily rewarded by simply completing Strikes in Destiny 2, so all you really need to do to level this Faction Reputation up is simply complete Strikes, and then take the Vanguard Tactician Tokens that you earn and turn them in to Commander Zavala in The Tower.

Intrinsic

Precision Frame –This weapon fires a long-range precision energy bolt. The weapon’s recoil is more predictable and vertical.

Sight / Barrel

Hitmark IS – Agile sight. Short zoom.

  • Greatly increases the weapon’s Handling Speed.
  • Slightly increases the weapon’s Range.

Red Dot 2 MOA – Snapshot sight. Short zoom.

  • Slightly increases the weapon’s Range.
  • Increases weapon’s Handling Speed.

Red Dot Micro – Agile sight. Short zoom.

  • Increasesweapon’s Range.
  • Increases weapon’sHandling Speed.

Magazine / Battery

Appended Mag – This weapon’s magazine is built for higher capacity.

  • Increases weapon’smagazine size.

Flared Magwell – Optimized for fast reloading.

  • Slightly increasesweapon’s Stability.
  • Greatly increases weapon’sReload Speed.

Trait

Rampage – Kills with this weapon temporarily grant increased damage. Can be stacked up to 3x.
