New Max Level and Power Level

If you spent any amount of time in the original Destiny on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, then chances are you’re already used to the idea of your Max Level and Power Level going up with each new DLC release. This is a pretty common practice with Bungie, as it allows them to increase the Power needed for activities, and therefore increase the type of gear that you can get from them.

Before the DLC update, players could only reach a max level of 25, and a max Power Level of 330 (335 with the right mods attached). Now, players will see an increase in the Max levels possible, with the max Player Level jumping to 30, and the Max Power Level jumping up to 380 (385 with the use of mods).

This is a pretty big change for players, and these changes affect more than just the player themselves. In fact, the Leviathan Raid will also see a bump in its required power, as it jumped up from 270 required Power to 300 with Curse of Osiris, expect a similar jump in Warmind. The Nightfall will also received a bump in its requirements, as it previously required players to have a total of 270 Power now, which will likely increase to 300 or more. You’ll also need to be a higher Power for the Heroic Strike playlist, so keep that in mind when planning this week’s events with your Fireteam.

How to Reach New Max Level and Power Level Fast

Now that you’re aware of the new Max Level and Power Levels in Destiny 2, let’s talk a little about how you can improve your levels and reach the new caps pretty quickly. If you’ve been playing Destiny 2 since its initial release, then you’re probably pretty well off already. But, there are a couple of things you can do to breeze through the new levels you’ll have unlocked. First, focus on beating the Warmind story missions. This will most likely help you reach the new level cap pretty easily, and from there you can start to tackle the other items in the DLC to reach the new power levels. Be ready to grind, though, as the leaps in Power Level will come from completing the more difficult end game items like the Raid, Nightfall, and Heroic Strike playlist.
