The Sparrow was a trusted mode of transportation throughout Destiny 1, and with Bungie expanding the universe and worlds in Destiny 2, it only seems right that players once more have access to the Star Wars-like speeder that allows them to zoom around planets. Unfortunately, unlike the original game, Destiny 2 players won’t receive a Sparrow at the start of the story. Instead, they’ll need to complete quite a few requirements to unlock their trusted motorized steed. In this article we’ll go over everything you need to know to get a Sparrow in Destiny 2 and start zooming around the different planets in the game.
How to Get a Sparrow
As we mentioned above, unlocking your Sparrow in Destiny 2 is a bit complicated, and players will actually need to complete quite a few requirements before they can pick one up. First off, you’ll need to complete the main campaign of the game. This takes quite a bit, as the campaign is full of story and suspense, so be prepared to walk around quite a bit for the first several hours in the game.
Once you have finished the main campaign, it’s time to grind your way all the way up to level 20. You can find out the quickest way to level up by checking out our guide on how to level up fast in Destiny 2 , where we’ll show you the best ways to level up and earn experience. Of course, since you won’t have a Sparrow until after you beat the main story, we’d suggest making sure you are ready to walk, or pick up a Pike from a nearby area when you’re exploring.
After the main story is complete, and you’ve reached level 20, head back to the Social Space and speak with Amanda Holliday. She’ll reward you with your very first Sparrow. You’ll actually have three different models to choose from, but they are all the same aside from their looks. It’s also possible to get a Sparrow before completing the main missions and hitting level 20, but the chances of that happening are very slim, so this is most likely how you’ll obtain your first Sparrow.
Now that you know how to get a new Sparrow, head out into the world and give it a spin. As we mentioned above, these vehicles are one of the best ways to get around the huge, expansive world that Bungie has created, and you’ll find them quite useful as you make your way throughout the Destiny universe.
