If you played the original Destiny, you’re probably familiar with the MIDA Multi-Tool. In Destiny 2, the MIDA Multi-Tool returns with the same power and perks from the first game. For those unaware, the Destiny 2 MIDA Multi-Tool is an Exotic Scout Rifle that allows your radar to stay on screen while using ADS (aim down sight). In addition, it increases your movement speed and will even raise your power when you pair it with the Legendary Submachine Gun. This article covers how to get the MIDA Multi-Tool in Destiny 2, so read on if you’re looking for that information.

Get the MIDA Multi-Tool

  • Complete the main campaign.
  • Be around 270 Power.
  • Complete the Enhance quest at the European Dead Zone.
  • Complete the Sight, Shoot, Repeat quest at the Tower.
  • Complete The Fall Will Kill You at the Tower.

Before you get started with the MIDA Multi-Tool quest, we recommend you’re around 270 Power. It can be done around 260 Power if you’re adventurous. To make sure you’re prepared for the quest, you should also save five Scout Rifles (Blue/Rare or Purple/Legendary). Once you’re the recommended level and you have the Scour Rifles, you’ve pretty much got everything you need to make this quest easy.

Your first task is to complete the main campaign and reach level 20. With the main campaign finished, make your way over to the European Dead Zone. Complete the Enhance planetary quest, which has you tracking down enhanced Ether supplies. You’ll need to be around 260 Power for this one unless you’re looking to really make this quest more difficult than it has to be.

Once you’ve completed the Enhance quest talk to Devrim to pick up the Submachine Gun, MIDA Multi-Tool. You’ll get some nice enhanced benefits when you have the SMG equipped alongside the MIDA Multi-Tool. Now head over to the Tower and speak with Banshee-44 to start the Sight, Shoot, Repeat quest. You’ll need to use the Scout Rifle to take down 50 enemies with precision shots, and kill a set number of enemies without reloading at all.

Talk to Banshee-44 again once that part of the quest is complete. You’ll be tasked with dismantling your five Scout Rifles that we told you to bring along with you. Perform this task, then talk to Banshee-44 again to start the next quest, The Fall Will Kill You. You’ll need to secure 50 airborne kills using the SMG. Ideally, you want to wait until your target’s health is low, then jump into the air for the kill. Speak to Banshee-44 one last time to collect the MIDA Multi-Tool.
