Destiny’s New Expansion, Rise of Iron, Officially Confirmed

Get your daily dose of Iron in this long-awaited Destiny add-on.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a major Destiny add-on, with the last one, The Taken King, lasting us a few months. Well, not to worry, as Activision and Bungie have exactly what you need – some Iron.

The team have announced the newest expansion for the game, Rise of Iron, which will release on September 20th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for $29.99. Sorry, Xbox 360 and PS3 owners, you’ll have to upgrade to experience this adventure.

The game will feature an all new raid, strike and story missions that take place in The Plaguelands, just outside Earth’s Cosmodrome wall. You’ll have to deal with a number of new infected Fallen enemies, along with a new Patrol area to rack up XP.

In addition, those who pre-order the game will get their hands on a sweet pre-order weapon – the Iron Gjallarhorn. That’s more than worthwhile to add to your weapon arsenal, we think.

Check out the trailer below, and get ready for the Rise!
